Advocacy by the Canadian Taxpayers Federation is putting a regrettable milestone in the headlines. Canada's federal debt will hit $500 billion--that's half a trillion--this weekend. Media are giving the CTF some honorable mentions while disparaging a federal government that keeps overspending.
